PRP Therapy WITH DR SABER

PRP model 01 intro

Platelet Rich Plasma Therapy (PRP) is a skin treatment that uses the plasma from the patient’s own blood to rejuvenate the skin. This plasma is high in nutrient-rich platelets and, when injected back into the skin, is used to stimulate skin healing and collagen production.

It’s because the plasma in our blood has such a high concentration of platelets that it is so beneficial when used in cosmetic treatments, whether it’s a standalone or combination treatment.

WHAT DOES PRP TREAT?

Whether or not your specific concerns can be addressed using PRP injections will need to be discussed with Dr Saber Ansari during a personalised consultation. Your general health, as well as the severity of your concerns, will need to be taken into account.

PRP injections can be used to treat a number of different concerns at our clinic in Werribee, Melbourne, including:

LINES AND WRINKLES AROUND THE EYE

With age, the skin around our eyes changes, leading to more prominent lines and wrinkles. PRP injections in this area can help restore collagen production, ultimately helping to smooth the skin around the eyes.

Acne scars

When injected into acne scars, the growth factors in PRP can help remodel the collagen in scars, making them appear less noticeable.

Sunken cheeks

As the skin loses volume with age, it is only normal for the cheeks to sag. Through PRP treatment in Melbourne, you can give the cheeks a boost by achieving a healthier, fuller appearance.

Hand age spots & wrinkles

By boosting the skin cells in the hands, PRP injections can reduce the appearance of age spots and rejuvenate the skin on the hands, resulting in a more youthful appearance.

Hair loss

When injected into the head, PRP can help stimulate the hair follicles, helping to address both thinning hair and hair loss.

ABDOMEN STRETCHES

Pregnancy stretches the skin on the abdomen a great deal, often leaving women with wrinkles and crepey skin after giving birth. This can be extremely discomforting for some. With PRP injections, the crepey skin is tightened and rejuvenated, along with stimulated collagen production.
At Dr Saber Cosmetic Clinic, we carry out effective treatment using platelet rich plasma therapy that shows unmatched results.

HOW PRP TREATMENTS ARE PERFORMED

The first stage of the PRP process requires the extraction of a small sample of blood. This is done in the same way as a regular blood test, however, the amount of blood extracted will depend on the area being treated.

Once the patient’s blood has been extracted, the PRP will need to be separated from the red blood cells. This is done by placing the blood vials in a centrifuge, which brings the PRP to the top of the vial. After that, the PRP is extracted from the vial using a syringe.

From there, the PRP will be injected into the relevant area, and patients are free to return to their usual routines directly afterwards. Since no incisions are necessary, no downtime is required. With this being said, some patients choose to take a day off work after their session.

In most instances, several sessions are required to achieve the desired outcome, with each session taking about half an hour to complete. Dr Saber will give you an idea of how many sessions will be required during your consultation.

PRP therapy at our clinic in Werribee, Melbourne, is also commonly paired with several other cosmetic treatments because it can enhance results and accelerate healing. You can discuss the possibility of adding PRP injections to your treatment plan with Dr Saber.

RESULTS PRP

You can usually see initial results from your PRP treatments in as little as two weeks. However, as collagen continues to regenerate over the following months, results will only continue to improve. Typical results from a series of PRP treatments may include an improvement in skin tone and elasticity, smoother skin, a reduction in scarring and an overall healthy glow.

In cases where PRP was used to treat hair loss, patients usually experience both an increase in hair growth and the growth of thicker, healthier strands of hair.

There may be some slight swelling, redness and tenderness in the area(s) that was treated. However, this will subside within a day or two. Patients are free to apply mineral makeup to the treated area should they wish to eliminate any redness after their appointment.

Any medications and supplements that could thin your blood should be avoided as this could make any bruising worse. Caffeine and alcohol should also be avoided for a day or two. Strenuous exercise is also discouraged for 24 hours to give the treated area time to recover.

Because PRP treatments are administered using the patient’s own blood, allergic reactions are not a concern. In fact, there are little to no side effects associated with this treatment besides the potential bruising, swelling and redness. Infection is the only risk to be aware of but if the necessary aftercare instructions are followed, this won’t be a concern.
